we
Working with and through our bodies we can process challenging feelings, change states, recover our resilience and the courage to make change.
Just when we feel that the world has already become so challenging, another thing happens. Actually, it's likely that many things are happening. Our capacity can be severely impacted. We may start to feel generalised dread, anxiety and despair. Whether we are looking at wildfires or genocides, species die-offs or growing refugee populations, hurricanes or the death of meaningful international human rights law, local affordability crisis or our crumbling health-care system, anti-lgbtqia+ movements, threats to women's healthcare and autonomy, human-caused global events that challenge the wellbeing and basic existence of us humans and all beings are in a quickening spiral. We must find ways to regulate our nervous systems and broaden our window of tolerance during these events, so we can foster large positive change and healthier directions.
We are in a period of waking up which can be tough and deeply disillusioning. Along with the disillusionment that our world isn't the safe, healthy, beautiful world we were told, is the realisation that very few of those in power have the will to actualise positive change. We need to find ways to step up, that even in small ways, are responsive to the crises.
If you are on a journey of working with mental health issues such as general anxiety and have been helped by talk-based psychotherapy or counseling, you may still feel tension in or disconnection from your body.
Gently, safely reconnecting with your bodily sensations and exploring supportive breath and movement options offers you tools to find deep calmness, self-connection and self-expression.
Caring for areas of your body impacted by challenging emotional states and restrictive movement habits can help you heal and return to resilience.
The brain senses the body and meeting these issues at a body level is an important part of change.
By returning to your bodily sensations you begin to explore your body's own voice and preferences, and find pathways to shift your body's physiology where it arises from emotions.
You forge pathways to experience and express joy and contentment choice, freedom and resilience.
My work is client centered, everyone experiences touch and movement differently. Our relationships with our bodies may be complex and totally individual. Your sense of agency and choice is assured.
I support all body types and work in a respectful, body positive framework. I aim to support neuro-divergent, lgbtq2ia+, and bipoc humans. It is worth discussing what this means to you, specifically.
I welcome you to reach out with any questions, email me, or book a free conversation to answer any questions and see if this is a fit for both of us. *Link at the top of the page
